Covington to Add Canoes and Kayak Rental to Former Waterfront Location
Kayaking, canoeing and rowing could soon replace Jeff Ruby’s Waterfront on the Ohio River. The Covington City Commission votes today on an agreement with the non-profit rowing group who proposed the idea. The Waterfront restaurant was closed in 2011 after it partially broke loose from its dock and floated down the Ohio River.

MusicNOW Artists and Tickets Announced
Tickets were released yesterday to the tenth annual MusicNOW festival. Acts will include a collaboration between The National and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, The Lone Bellow and more. MusicNOW was founded by Bryce Dessner, Cincinnati-native and guitarist for The National.

Homeless Protected Under Hate Crime Laws in Seelbach’s Proposal
Cincinnati Councilman Chris Seelback proposed a city ordinance that would classify homeless people to groups protected by hate crime laws. Seelback’s proposal could add 180 days in jail to those who mistreat homeless people in Cincinnati.

Huffington Post Names Cincinnati Startup Scene as Top 8 in USA
Cincinnati could be the next Silicon Valley. Or at least that’s what the Huffington Post thinks in its article that listed the Queen City as one of eight cities across the country that is poised to jumpstart the next round of successful startups. HuffPo noted Cincinnati’s large Fortune 500 companies and low tax base as reasons why Cincinnati could be the Midwest’s next tech hub.

Reds to Give Away Record Number of Bubbleheads in 2015
The Cincinnati Reds’ marketing division is trying to boost ticket sales in 2015 by offering a record number of bobbleheads. A total of nine figurines will be given away, including Johnny Bench, Barry Larkin, Brandon Phillips and other current and former Reds players.
